Learning Paths & Skill Tree
Learners progress through thematic paths (Strategist, Architect, Operator, plus org-defined custom paths) lesson by lesson, with prerequisite gating and XP.
What it is
Each learner has a set of learning paths. Built-in tracks are Strategist (leadership), Architect (engineering), and Operator (everyday productivity). Orgs can define their own custom paths.
Lessons are sequenced with prerequisites; completing a lesson unlocks the next and awards XP toward a level (Novice → Practitioner → Master → Strategic Lead).
Use
- Pick a path, then work through it one lesson at a time. The current lesson is highlighted ("Up next") and the path auto-scrolls to it.
- Lesson states are visually distinct: done (check), available (numbered), locked (dimmed).
- Engagement tiers (1–10) filter which content each learner sees, so leadership surfaces differ from deep technical content.
Setup
Learners are assigned an engagement level by their admin (Team & Engagement). Custom paths are created under Admin → Learning Paths.
Published dynamic courses merge into the learner's path automatically, laid out by topological sort of prerequisites.
Security
- Dynamic courses are org-scoped on every learner-facing path (getCourseForOrg), so a learner cannot open another org's course by guessing a UUID.
- XP resolution is org-scoped; completion and XP cannot be claimed for another org's content.
