Smart Assignments
Prism recommends which workforce segments get which courses and paths, admins review and deploy, and every decision is recorded in an immutable audit log. Survey results can drive the whole flow, including drafting missing content.
What it is
Smart Assignments is a targeted, AI-assisted learning-assignment system. Prism ingests your roster demographics, per-member readiness, your course/path/track inventory, and (optionally) a completed survey's skill-gaps, then proposes two kinds of recommendations: assign (a segment gets existing content) and gap (a missing capability needs new material).
Use
- Target segments by engagement level, department, role, location, digital-use intensity, readiness band, or explicit members.
- Generate a plan from a plain-English goal, or from a completed survey's results (the survey's skill-gaps pre-seed Prism).
- Review each recommendation with its written rationale; accept or reject.
- Deploy accepted assignments: filters resolve to members, and each member gets a course-assigned notification and email (per your messaging controls).
- For a gap recommendation, click Draft material: Prism authors the proposed course through the same pipeline as manual authoring and lands it in the recommended track/path as a draft.
Setup
Open Admin → Smart Assignments → New plan. Choose From a goal or From a survey. Prism generates recommendations; review and accept them, then Deploy.
To surface demographic targeting, import a member roster first (see Member Roster) so users are linked to their demographics.
Security
- Every accept, reject, and deploy is written to an immutable audit log (rationale snapshot, acting admin, timestamp). The log is read-only: there is no edit or delete path.
- Tenant isolation: an admin can only generate, decide, and deploy plans in their own org, and a survey's results can never be read by another org.
- Deploy is idempotent and best-effort: notifications are fire-and-forget and cannot leave a recommendation half-deployed.
- Material drafted from a gap is placed only in a track or path that belongs to the org.
